Business Situation

A spin-off from General Electric, Momentive Performance Materials operates globally through about 25 production plants located in the Americas, Europe, and the Asia Pacific. It manufactures products for everything from car engines and biomedical devices to integrated circuits. It serves companies as diverse as BASF, Lowe’s, Motorola, and Unilever.

The Project Management Office (PMO) at Momentive is charged with handling hundreds of concurrent internal initiatives each year with a staff of 57 project managers. This critical business unit had an immediate need for an effective, homogenous system capable of managing, tracking, and reporting project portfolio progress while providing high-level visibility for senior-level executives.
